Hello!
I am Jair Pereira from Brazil living in Japan.

I obtained my PhD from the University of Tsukuba, where I was part of the Evolutionary Computation Laboratory. My graduate studies focused on metaheuristic search algorithms, which are general-purpose methods for solving optimization problems. My Masters research was on automated design of metaheuristic algorithms, and my PhD theme was on data-driven approaches to compare and analyze metaheuristics based on their performance, their search strategies, and the problem's landscape characteristics.

I am currently a post-doc researcher at KEK's Structural Biology Research Center, learning about Cryogenic-Electron Microscope, a technique used to take pictures of proteins and process them into 3D models! I am researching methods to automate parts of the workflow and also improve current algorithms.
